St. Catharines Emergency FLAP

St. Catharines’ Emergency Flood Alleviation Program (Emergency FLAP) offers reimbursement for eligible flood-protection work and installation.

PROGRAM STATUS

Council approved the funding

The City page reports that Council approved $20 million on 26 August 2026. The City describes reimbursement of 90% of eligible costs, up to $5,000, subject to review.

The program page lists property and sewer-connection conditions and requires a licensed plumber and a Plumbing-Only permit. Confirm the full current checklist and whether your work qualifies with the City.

BACKWATER VALVES

No separate valve cap is stated here

The City’s published cap is for eligible protection work and installation overall. The page does not state a separate backwater-valve-only amount. Do not treat $5,000 as a promised valve rebate; ask the City to confirm your proposed work before starting.
